Vacancy: volunteer Chair of Finance Committee
Are you a chartered accountant looking to support a local charity? Then look no further – Saffron Walden Almshouses is looking for a new volunteer chair for its finance committee.
Providing much needed housing for Saffron Walden residents of modest means and on a low income, irrespective of their age, our Almshouses Charity is looking for a director who will act as chair of the finance committee. A volunteer role, we’re looking for someone who will be prepared to roll up their sleeves; this is very much a hands-on role.
So, if there’s no pay, what’s the reward? That comes from working with a group of dedicated trustees and small staff team who between them make sure our residents are well supported, our buildings are up to scratch and our finances are secure. We also plan to replace one of our buildings that is no longer fit for purpose with a new, purpose-built unit. At the same time, we need to up our profile locally and raise significant funds. Our new finance chair will have a major role in this work.
